The Fight Against Goliath

Saul replied, “You are not able to go out against this Philistine and fight him; you are only a young man, and he has been a warrior from his youth.” 1 Samuel 17:33

People might often doubt our ability. Even we doubt our ability sometimes. We may put ourselves down, without any reason. Thinking we’re no one compared to him. But that’s why we put our faith in God.

When we put our faith in God we don’t care what other people think. We’re sure of where we stand because we know God is on our side.

If you compare Goliath’s height with David’s then David was almost nothing compared to Goliath. But that didn’t discourage David, because he knew he had something greater than height and human strength. He had the faith of the Lord. And that’s all we need. No matter what kind of Goliath we’re facing, we have God to trust in. To trust that He will lead us to victory, because we are His children.

  1. Goondach Maria. How are you? My friend Kallie Williams recently talked with you and she told me about your recent marriage. Congratulations!
My name is Lori Tullos. I used to visit your mom and we would have some very nice Bible discussions.
I have been looking through your Blog…very nice!
We no longer live in Kansas…but are in central Texas now…San Angelo.
There arent any Low German families in this area so I never get to practice my Plautdietsch. I still love your language very much.
We are still active in the Bible educational work here in Texas…but not as much as before. My husband has had 2 cardiac arrests this year and has spent time in the hospital. His health is still weak. These “critical last days” (2 Tim 3:1-5) can be very hard to live in!!
    How are you enjoying marriage?
My daughter Chloe also got married this year, in July.
Reply if you have time. Please send my greetings to your Mom and Family.

    1. Hi! It’s good to talk to you again. I had no idea you moved until Kallie told me.
I’m sorry to hear about your husband; I hope he feels better soon.
I’m happy for Chloe. I wish her all the best in her new marriage.
Thank you for contacting me. It was nice to talk to you again!
